Stone Age

The millennia long after the extinction of the dinosaur and the evolution of ape into man, but before metallurgy. The period of human history when the first known use of stone tools by hominins arose, c. 3.3 million years ago. Also described by Howard (ahistorically) as “an Age undreamed of, when shining kingdoms lay spread across the world like blue mantles beneath the stars… Hither came Conan, the Cimmerian, black-haired, sullen-eyed, sword in hand, a thief, a reaver, a slayer, with gigantic melancholies and gigantic mirth.” (Conan Wiki)

Description The millennia long after the extinction of the dinosaur and the evolution of ape into man, but before metallurgy. The Stone Age was a broad prehistoric period during which stone was widely used to make stone tools with an edge, a point, or a percussion surface. The period lasted for roughly 3.4 million years and ended between 4000 BC and 2000 BC, with the advent of metalworking. It therefore represents nearly 99.3% of human history. ~ Stone Age – Wikipedia
