“Tech” Carson, an inventor and adventurer, created a “three-cartridge rocket pack.” He also created one for his assistant, Pat Dale. He fought villains as Zip-Jet, but neither “Tech” nor Pat concealed their identities. The public, including the villains they faced, knew their real names. Note: Zip-Jet #1-2 from St. John Publications in 1953 were reprints of Rocketman stories from 1941. Rocketman was renamed Zip-Jet and Rocketgirl was not given a new codename, although she was referred to as the “Zip-Jet Doll” by some thugs. Their costumes were colored differently and their real names were changed from Carl Martin and Doris Dalton to “Tech” Carson and Pat Dale. A Canadian company also used refurbished Rocketman art on occasional covers during the Jetman #1-30 run, beginning in 1945, but no stories of Jetman/Rocketman appeared in the inside content.
