Captain Midnight and Icky discover life on Saturn. At the same time, they hear about Interspace Airways ships missing around Saturn. The duo rocket out to investigate. They are immediately set upon by Saturnians, captured, and taken before Xog, their leader. Xog has them imprisoned along with the missing pilots. They all team up and, with the help of Captain Midnight’s Disintegrator Gun, escape. Xog learned English by studying intercepted transmissions from Earth. He lived in a cavern beneath the surface of Saturn. Xog, like his people, was formed from the gas of the rings of Saturn, making him capable of dramatically changing his shape and evading attacks with superhuman agility. His regular form was quite substantial, and had the size and strength to handle heroes like Captain Midnight with ease. Xog stood around 10 feet tall and had two sharp claws at the end of each of limbs. He explained that he could summon a nearly unlimited number of warriors from the rings of Saturn, suggesting that they were capable of flying through space. Unlike other members of his race, Xog purged gas from the top of his head, which appeared to have a halo-like ring around it.
