Speed Centaur

Speed Centaur is the lone surviving member of a race of Arctic-dwelling Centaurs wiped out by an earthquake. As a youngster, he was taken in by a trapper named Nelson, an ex-newspaper publisher, who educated Speed and raised him to hate evil and crime. When Nelson passed away, Speed Centaur set out for civilization, finally coming upon “the City of Rackets”. He rescued “Reel” McCoy, a reporter for the Daily Views, thrown out of a plane by gangsters. The two teamed-up to fight crime. Speed’s powers included flight, and he was approximately eight times stronger than a normal human. Presumably, Speed Centaur was also resistant to cold (since he lived in the Arctic) and could run as fast as a horse (since he is a centaur).
