Vance Loomis picks up his brother Kenny on Venus to return to Earth. Vance is a bully, calling his asthmatic brother Kenny bookish and weak. When a meteor strikes their ship, they make an emergency landing in a deep crater on the Moon. Hoping to come across astronauts rumored to have gone missing on the Moon, Kenny and Vance suit up with blasters to look about. Despite Kenny’s protestations, Vance takes his helmet off. Vance breathes in air, initially feeling fine, but soon falls unconscious. As Kenny tries to put Vance’s helmet back on, Space Age Pirate appears, gun pointed. Space Age Pirate tells Kenny that he collects the ships belonging to travelers who fall prey to the crater’s naturally soporific air. He shows Kenny a large group of unconscious space travelers on the floor of the crater. Space Age Pirate forces Kenny to take off his helmet. Kenny does so, seeing it as futile to resist. Kenny lays down to go to sleep. After five minutes, he realizes his asthma makes him immune to the effects of the crater’s air. Pretending to sleep until the appropriate time, he sneaks up on the Space Age Pirate and beans him with a rock. His helmet broken, Space Age Pirate is soon asleep. Kenny contacts the authorities, and Space Age Pirate is quickly arrested. The other men are awakened.
