The Mad Botanist was employed by a foreign government to kill off American scientists. When Captain Flag confronted him, the two fought it out inside a greenhouse. During the struggle, Captain Flag kicked the Mad Botanist into a “man-eating clam-plant”, which snapped off his head and ate him alive. He specialized in creating new plant species and fragrances.
