Areanthropes

Unsettling creatures whose bodies combine human traits with an awkward, avian form. They possess large, membranous wings which they open abruptly when threatened, using them not for graceful flight but for heavy, jerking leaps—”like great hens.” Their limbs move with a mixture of strength and clumsiness, and their physical presence is dominated by size rather than agility. Their heads, disproportionately large and often bald, are marked by a third eye whose glare can paralyze or overpower humans, while they also wield orange radiations capable of subduing or compelling movement. They are capable of sudden violence and lack the controlled poise of their more intellectual counterparts like their ambassador Momm Trump and their leader Raph Glymm. They react instinctively, fleeing when pressed.
