He took over another scientist’s castle because it was located near constant storms, and built his machines. His experiments resulted in an unusual side-effect, changing his appearance, making his eyes turn jaundice and his skin pale. He later rescued a Mummy, planning to use his radium-coated bandages to unlock the secrets of invulnerability. The Mummy and Mastermind could not cooperate, and Mastermind ended up killing his ally before unlocking his secrets. His evil plans were always foiled by his nemesis Lash Lightning. His powers included lightning projection, teleportation, and limited super strength. He was also a genius with a self-described “super brain.” Besides his intellect and powers, Mastermind was also skilled in hand-to-hand combat, and marksmanship, using weapons such as swords and firearms.
