Mantoka was a mysterious Native American man given the powers of his father, the tribe’s Shaman. During a shamanic initiation ceremony, a rattlesnake bit him and he presumably had a vision. He discovered he had gained the powers of a shape-shifter, could freeze objects, set things on fire, and change the shape of objects. Mantoka rescues his tribe’s hunters, who were being enslaved by a white man as mine workers. He then goes on to fight crime.
