Jim Lawson not only witnesses his father’s murder, but he also has to watch the murderer go unpunished thanks to frightened witnesses. Lawson devotes himself to the law and becomes a judge. When the law doesn’t get the job done, he becomes the crime fighter known as the Judge. In his two adventures, he arranged for shake-down victims to meet their nemesis in the courtroom in order to pass judgment. Hence the title of the strip was “The Judge and the Jury.”
