Jane Drake was a teenage detective in an unnamed American city. Although she solved her first case thanks to plain luck, Jane seemed to have learned on the job and became a better detective with each adventure. Jane was reluctantly assisted by Jerry King, her neighbor and best friend. Her father, Sheldon Drake, was a prominent attorney. Worried about his daughter’s safety, he initially forbade her to solve crimes, but he came around towards the end.
