Yank and Rebel

The Yank and the Rebel were two Civil War era soldiers who fought in the Battle of Gettysburg in 1863, during which they fell into a fissure and were put into suspended animation by a radioactive pool. In 1941, soldiers running maneuvers caused vibrations that reopened the fissure. The Civil War soldiers were revived and told by the military that neither side won, but the Union of the Nation was preserved. Inspired by this, they put aside their differences and banded together with the Army to flush out spies and saboteurs. Note: The story is signed “Dix Mason”, a play on “Mason-Dixon” by actual writer/artist Larry Antonette.
