The man known as X-5 Secret Agent was a spy for a U.S. government agency during World War II. In his first appearance, he’s stationed in the neutral country of San Miguel. where he sees an enemy battleship refueling. Later in a bar, he overhears a conversation from the Baroness Verber about sinking the American freighter the Arkian when it arrives. After a confrontation with the baroness and her associate, X-5 goes to warn the captain of the Arkian, but the ship has left the harbor already. They are shelled by the enemy. X-5 helps rescue the ship from sinking, then hatches a plan to trap the enemy in the harbor by blocking the channel with the damaged Arkian. When the enemy stops firing on the Arkian’s lifeboats, X-5 deduces they have run out of ammunition. When the enemy returns to dock to raid a munitions depot, X-5 arrives first and locks them inside. San Miguel forces apprehend them. In issue #5, X-5 Secret Agent is changed to G-5 Super Agent.
