In their battle, The Shark noted membranes that closed over the separation points on his body, to hold in the blood, but could not solve the mystery of his invulnerability. He sent the mobster to jail in pieces. Von Lougg soon escaped. He was now called the Portable-Man. After another showdown with The Shark and Father Neptune, he was separated, and each body part was locked away separately.
