The Vampire is a beautiful, mysterious, and legendary hero taking on the underworld. She is traveling to Calcutta aboard a large cargo plane, which is caught in a “magnetic ray” beamed by two mysterious black planes, which force it land in a strange Himalayan city. The pilots Austin Gray and Mike are taken at gunpoint to the Black Dragon, who offers them a great deal of money to fly his opium to the Western world. They refuse. The Vampire appears, providing Gray the opportunity to knock out the Dragon, and the trio escape. On the cover of Gem Comics #16, in her only appearance, the Vampire is shown wearing a lime green, full-body suit, wide-cuffed gauntlets, ankle-high boots, a pistol holster, and a bat logo on her forehead, somewhat remniscent of Irma Vep. Her belt buckle sported a stylized “V”.
