Val Nor

Myra Trent is an adventurer with a taste for speed. She wins many races, setting land-speed records and winning speedboat races. She creates a rocket to make her the first human to reach Mars. Scientist Ted Corsy expresses his love for Myra, asking her not to go. Myra ignores his plea. Corsy remains in radio contact with her throughout the trip. After the touchdown on Mars, a green, tentacled creature with a canine appearance approaches Myra. She acts terrified. The communicator to Earth is turned off when the creature brushes against it. The creature addresses Myra, whom he calls Myr Ah, commenting on her acting skills. Myra says “Yes…it was melodramatic, Val Nor!” The creature Val Nor notes the anguish in Corsy’s voice before the communication ceased. Myr Ah admits she used Corsy, enough to cause him to fall in love with her. Myra wishes to return to their ship so she can resume her natural form. She takes on her real form, matching that of Val Nor. Myra reiterates their plan to encourage mankind to develop space travel. Val Nor and Myr Ah’s job is done, and they return to their “different galaxy, far away”.
