The “Death Squad,” led by mercenary flyer Top Bowers, perform rescue missions for pay. In his only appearance, Bowers and the Squad “fly to the Orient to rescue Americans held captive… in a small Jap-held town in war-torn China,” only to be captured by a Fu Manchu-like Yellow Peril, Harr Sang, who is perfecting his super-science: “I will control the thoughts of all men!” Bowers eventually escapes and sees that justice is done to Harr Sang, the captive American rescued, and the besieging Japanese killed. Notes: Top Bowers is a reprinted and renamed Chip Collins.
