He came to the Wizard’s attention when his girlfriend, Jane Barlowe, was seeking some spiritual advice from the swami known as Swami Rivers. Fearing his identity was revealed to her, the Wizard went to investigate the “secret” his fiancée learned. During his inquiry, he stumbled upon a German spy ring.
