Taro is a lieutenant in the army of the Unicors. He aids Rod Rian to escape from the Mephisians, the thralls of Mephis. Taro is captured by Mephis for aiding Rian. Rod and Taro are sent to the Island of the Living Dead, along with captured Unicor soldiers. During an adventure on the Island of the Living Dead, Rod Rian devises a means for curing the populace of their skeletal appearance. Taro is last seen struck down by an enemy arrow.
