Sergeant Spook was a police scientist killed in a lab explosion, caused when he placed his pipe too close to a highly flammable chemical-filled rack. The Sergeant discovered he was a ghost, only visible and able to be heard by Jerry, a teenager. Sergeant Spook became a crime fighter, assisted by both Jerry and Dr. Sherlock. He later discovered Ghost Town, home to famous ghosts such as Captain Kidd, Robin Hood, and Johnny Appleseed, who became his allies, and Napoleon Bonaparte and Jesse James, who became his enemies. Sergeant Spook’s powers included invisibility, intangibility, and being able to make contact with the physical world.
