Air-Sub “DX”, a flying submarine equipped with a “dissolving gun”, was the invention of Professor Gray. Professor Gray, his lovely daughter Rita Gray, and his strapping lab assistant Captain Tim, crew the sub. Captain Tim became the de facto captain of the Air-Sub, as well as a somewhat costumed adventurer. The Air-Sub team fought Curley, a dictator of an undersea kingdom, who was constantly trying to steal the sub to use as a super-weapon in his wars of conquest.
