Pha

Thun’Da, Roger Drum, was an Air Force officer flying across Africa on a spy-chasing mission when his plane went down in unexplored territory, a prehistoric lost world. Crashing in the heart of the valley, his plane was beset by dinosaurs. He escaped and was captured by hostile ape-men, but he managed to escape, as well. While wandering through the valley, he was spied by Princess Pha, a local beauty and the ruler of the forgotten city of Shareen, and her hunting party. In seeming isolation, Drum exercised daily, becoming a paragon of physical perfection. Upon meeting Pha, he fell in love. After fighting and killing many hostile ape-men and escaping, Drum rang the Drum of Kalla, the sacred gong of the ape-men’s temple, summoning “the father of all serpents.” He killed the monster with the last three bullets from his gun, winning the respect of Pha’s people and becoming revered as a god, naming him Thun’Da. An earthquake ravaged the lost valley, sealing it off from the world forever. Thun’Da was able to get Pha to safety, along with their pet saber tooth tiger, but her people were killed in the disaster. The princess and Thun’Da set out to explore the land, where he spent the rest of his vine-swinging career.
