Nick Nelson of the Space Patrol, along with his Martian co-pilot Kodi, track a notorious space criminal to Venus. They observe a spaceship in the Venusian clouds. Kodi identifies it as belonging to Owen Kosterman, the criminal they’re tracking. Nelson orders Kodi to shoot it down and then they follow it to the surface of Venus, thinking Kosterman may have survived. Nelson lands in a jungle clearing. Nelson and Kodi find Kosterman’s ship abandoned. Kosterman attacks Nelson from his hiding spot and forces him to drop his gun. Nelson warns Kosterman that a “Spider Man” is behind him, but Kosterman thinks it’s a trick until he’s attacked. Nelson is grabbed by another creature and carried off to a cave as a meal. Kodi kills the Spider Man, rescuing Nelson, and then Kodi shoots the first creature, saving Kosterman’s life. Kosterman still tries to escape the lawmen, snatching Kodi’s gun. Nelson punches Kosterman, sends him stumbling over a cliff into a river below, where he’s surrounded by river monsters. Kodi supposes they won’t get Kosterman after all. Nelson says it may be just as well, as Kosterman would be poor company for a long space voyage.
