Mirror Man was a monster from another world. He broke free from the mirror world and entered Earth’s dimension when a scientist named Dr. Pierce experimented with silicon atoms to create a new isotope. MIrror Man began to siphon silicon from the doctor, killing him. Keith Spencer, a.k.a. Captain Flash, found Pierce’s dead body and was attacked by Mirror Man. Captain Flash sent the beast back into the mirror, and then, along with his sidekick Ricky, recreated Dr. Pierce’s experiment, discovering that Mirror Man needed silicon to live. When Mirror Man attacked a second time, they learned he was targeting anyone involved with the Cosmic Project, including Ricky’s father, the head of the project. The duo rushed to Ricky’s house to find his father being sucked into their bathroom mirror. They stopped the monster and followed him into the sewers, to a strange place filled with mirrors. Captain Flash and Mirror Man fought. The Captain used his power to burst into flames, causing Mirror Man to retreat, swearing his revenge. In Captain Flash #2, a statue of Captain Flash was unveiled. Mirror Man returned during a scientific conference, attacking scientists in attendance. Captain Flash lured Mirror Man by grouping the remaining scientists in “The Mirror Room”. Once Mirror Man appeared, Captain Flash pressed a button causing all the mirrors in the room to rotate away, and into the walls. Flash almost defeated him, but Mirror Man escaped through a compact mirror in a woman’s handbag. While in his first appearance, Mirror Man looked like a giant tentacled lizard monster, in his second he resembled a more human-like form.
