Star of Dolan’s Mammoth Circus, Miraco the Great possesses not only hypnotic powers but also commands real magic, exhibits occult abilities, as well as superhuman strength. He lives in a trailer with Eddie, his assistant and sidekick, and their closest friends are Frank Webb, a wire walker, and Donalda, a trapeze artist. When Webb and Donalda were engaged to be married, it tempted the anger of Franzetti, trainer of the “man-killing” gorilla Colossus. After several attempts to win Donalda away from Webb, coupled with overt attempts to murder Miraco, the magician presented Franzetti with an ultimatum: either quit the circus, or be beaten to a pulp and turned over to the police. Franzetti agreed to quit and left. Before leaving however, he released the big cats, which Miraco easily pacified.
