Eaglet is in reality Bud Pierce, assistant to scientist Tom Standish who works for the U.S. government. In the city looking for work, Pierce saves Tom’s life. They decide to pool their resources to find employment. After helping Tom thwart a Nazi plot to poison America’s water supply, Pierce went on to create his own costume to fight criminals as Eaglet, sidekick to American Eagle. As the son of a circus strongman, Pierce has an exceptional level of strength and agility for a young man his age. He would later possess the same powers of flight, limited invulnerability and strength as American Eagle.
