Cynthia Blake, daughter of the banker who holds the mortgage on the Daily Express, was kidnapped by the Moroniabund’s most fanatical member, Von Leo. He threatened to kill Blake if her father didn’t foreclose on the Daily Press. Von Leo told the banker to look out the window where a timed explosion showed he meant business. The Press Guardian infiltrated the Moroniabund’s headquarters and freed Cynthia. While attempting to escort her away, the Press Guardian is recognized and had to fight his way through the gang. After he safely delivered Cynthia to Baldwin, his valet, he returned to clean up and capture the remaining members. Cynthia eventually learned her boss, Perry Chase, was the Press Guardian. In later adventures, she became his secretary and girlfriend. Cynthia is a feisty fighter and looks good in a red dress. She’s an expert marksman with a pistol and isn’t afraid to get involved.
