Black X (sometimes known as Black Ace) was a charming American spy who fought the enemies of freedom both overseas and back in the states. He was originally Richard Spencer, a Washington D.C. bureaucrat and a fierce fighter against corruption. He faked his death in order to continue helping his country without worrying about being targeted. When World War II ended, he retired from spying and became a private investigator. He had a lust/hate relationship with Madame Doom, a European mercenary who frequently worked for the Axis powers. He was also aided by his loyal manservant Batu.
