Artopods are insect-like creatures from Neptune. The Artopod, Jawa, leads an advance scouting party to prepare for an invasion. The ship lands in Spaceman’s Gulch on Spurs Jackson’s ranch, the Bar-Z. With Strong Bow gone on a mission with Spurs, it left only Hank Roper and a group of visiting science fiction fans called the Dehyrates to fend off the invasion.
