Kenneth Stevens, a biology professor, was trying to perfect a “flight fluid.” However, he was in a hurry to get to a costume party and accidentally spilled some of the formula on his hand. The fluid worked and made him lighter than air, and he used this new power and the costume he was wearing at the time of the accident to fight crime as Airmale. He was assisted by his cousin and sidekick Stampy. Stevens is always lighter than air, but he wears a “gravity belt” to regulate the flow of gravity around him so that he can fly or walk on the ground.
