Ace Powers was the “head of the city detective bureau”, which seemed to be a division of the police department. He frequently found himself in bizarre situations fighting insane foes like the Panther and the Spook, as well as a giant scorpion and zombies. Ace was an exceptional fighter, capable of taking on more than one man at a time. He was, presumably, a clever detective, and he carried a handgun, though he seemed to prefer using his fists.
