Convinced by a gang of neighborhood boys that he could fly like Black Condor, meek Hustace Throckmorton jumped off a building. Lacking Black Condor’s unique upbringing, he was badly injured. In an emergency procedure, doctors got a blood transfusion from Roy Lincoln, secretly the Human Bomb. When Throckmorton recovered, he gained the Human Bomb’s ability to detonate objects by touch, but with his feet. The Human Bomb tracked down the terrified Throckmorton, helping him gain control of his newfound abilities with “fibro-wax” socks. The grateful Throckmorton decided to help the Human Bomb. He gained the names “Thunderfoot” and “Boomfoot”. Although Throckmorton caused more problems than he helped solve, the Bomb made him his partner in Lincoln-Thockmorton Laboratories. Throckmorton served as the Human Bomb’s official spokesman/manager, which also got him into trouble. He had a girlfriend he referred to as Honey-Bun. Throckmorton was fairly inept as a fighter, though his thunderfeet were sometimes useful.
