The Red Death was a Nazi agent who planned to bomb the major cities of the United States with a deadly gas of his own creation. Although he was able to capture Spy Smasher, the hero managed to escape and send the Red Death and his gang to the bottom of the ocean. The Red Death was about 7 feet tall and very strong. He carried a gun that emitted a red gas that turned a person’s skin red as they died. The Red Death was a brutal villain, uncaring and merciless even to his own henchmen, who he abused throughout. He believed himself to be superior, and he demanded to only be called The Red Death. The Red Death kills his targets as well as people who simply are at wrong place at the wrong time. Spy Smasher manages to have The Red Death’s red gas released in an airplane before it was to be released in New York City. The plane crashes into the Hudson River, and all, including The Red Death, are believed to have died. However, there was no definitive proof of this fact.
