As a street panhandler, the Prince of Paupers appears to be blind and immobile. He meets a group of gangsters as they are surrounded by police, and aids the gangsters in a getaway, using a trick crutch that emits ammonia gas. They all escape through the sewers. During a meeting, as the gang plan a robbery at a party hosted by the Astorbilts, the Prince of Paupers wounds one of the gangsters to improve his disguise as a beggar. At the party, the Prince of Paupers and his gang are defeated by the Duke of Darkness.
