A gargantuan swarm of locusts threaten to destroy all crops, and humanity with it. When a global campaign of insecticide bombs are dropped, the locusts respond by sending a message to their locust brethren in the far reaches of space. The Invader Legion respond, easily defeating the humans to aid their brethren. Reporter Pete Martin and his wife Helen are selected for Project Final X. The couple is sent by a special aircraft to an arctic island, where the cold-averse creatures are not likely to follow. On the island, Pete and Helen are to work to ensure the future of the human race.
