Miss Boston was a skilled American detective who helped Dr. Watson avenge the death of Sherlock Holmes, and then goes on to solve cases on her own with titles such as “The Invisible Man,” “Twenty-Five Thousand Corpses!” and “The Fatal Handshake.” The Italian reprint of the story changed Sherlock Holmes to Nick Carter on account of Holmes’ apparent survival.
