He was assisted by the Rusty Ringle, who was skilled with disguises and had a trick yo-yo. The pair of detectives fought both on ordinary and extraordinary criminals. One such villain was No-Face who was assited by female crook, Narda, who falls for Johnny and turns on her boss. In return, Earthquake allowed her to escape.
