Gail Leslie is a reporter for The Daily Bugle newspaper. Sent to investigate a train wreck, she encounters a familiar face in Tony Brand. As she continues the investigation, she catches the attention of The Living Ghost, who kidnaps her and attempts to make her his queen. When Brand makes The Living Ghost mortal using a church relic given him by Dr. Vandyke, Leslie helps Brand capture the villain by smashing The Living Ghost in the head with a large rock.
