When Stanley Bates discovered a lost platinum mine, his business partner Jonathan Kane decided he wanted the whole thing, not just half. He created the Chief Skullface character to disguise his identity when he killed and scalped Bates, hoping to throw suspicion on the local natives or Stanley’s brother, Bob. As Chief Skullface, he wielded a stone tomahawk, and spoke with insulting broken English. He had a small band of Native American henchmen and seems to have been a horse rider and archer as well. His plan was thwarted by The Black Owl (1).
